Book Description

Before you decide to buy the book, it’s a good idea to read the following reviews.

Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-PN® Examination 8e provides everything you need to prepare for the NCLEX-PN exam ― a review of essential nursing content, more than 4,500 NCLEX exam-style questions, detailed rationales, and test-taking tips and strategies. Based on Silvestri’s proven Pyramid to Success, the book includes many questions that test the critical thinking skills you need to pass the NCLEX.

Students can use this book exclusively for reviewing before taking the Nclex. Passed the first time in June 2018. I did take all of the questions that were offered on the internet and used only one other app for questions. This book explains everything very clearly and the separation between the sections with questions is great.

This 8th edition was written by  Linda Anne Silvestri Ph.D. RN FAAN and Angela Elizabeth Silvestri Ph.D. APRN FNP-BC CNE. Linda Anne Silvestri has provided decades of nursing education and leadership that have directly impacted the growing and needed nursing workforce.

Her research focused on a holistic investigation of predictors leading to success on the licensure examination. Angela Silvestri is a well-known nurse educator, researcher, and author. She has been teaching and working in university administrative roles for the past 10 years at all levels of nursing education. She has experience teaching across the program and in the classroom and clinical settings in the areas of Nutrition and Human Development Across the Lifespan, Foundations of Care in Nursing, Gerontological Nursing, Complex Care in Nursing, and Leadership and Transition to Practice in pre-nursing and undergraduate nursing programs.

This book has very detailed and current content with thousands of quality review questions and a great analysis of the rationale for each question.

The favorite part of the book is the “ Integrated Processes” which identified and addressed the five processes; caring, communication and documentation, culture and spirituality, nursing process, teaching and learning in the test plan, and structured very well throughout the book. This book did a good job of laying out the all-important critical thinking and test-taking skills, and the critical thinking part “what should you do?” She says the book provided a great template to follow with succinct clarity and a step-by-step breakdown of what she really needed to know without overburdening her with fluff.

After reading the reviews above, do you not want to decide to buy this book?
